Young women between the ages of 17 and 24 that are interested in becoming a Miss Monroe County Contestant must be able to attest to the following statements:

I am a citizen of the United States of America

I reside, or am a full time student, or am employed full time in Monroe County, in the State of Michigan.

I am a high school graduate or will be by June 2008 or hold a GED and can produce my diploma as proof thereof upon
request.

I am not now and I have never been married.

I am not now pregnant, and I have never been pregnant. I am not the adoptive parent of any child.

I have never been convicted of any crime and do not have any criminal charge pending against me. I have never done any
act, or engaged in any activity, which is or could be characterized as dishonest, immoral, immodest, indecent or in bad taste.
Entrant must possess and display in a maximum of 2 minutes, a talent presentation. This talent may be signing, dancing, playing a musical instrument, dramatic reading, art display, dress designing, creative poetry, writing, etc.
Entrant must undergo a ten-minute interview with a panel of five judges, display physical fitness in a swimsuit, model an evening gown, and answer one on-stage question.
Entrant must raise a minimum of $100 to support Children's Miracle Network and the Miss America Scholarship Fund. This is not an entrance fee, but rather a new service requirement to participate in Miss America sponsored pageants. Each contestant will log onto
www.missamerica4kids.org to create her personal fundraising web page and set her minimum fundraising goal of $100.
All interested potential contestants
MUST attend a Contestant Sign-Up Session in order to be eligible to compete in the 2008 Miss Monroe County Pageant on August 16th, 2008. Contestant Sign-Up Sessions are held at the La-Z-Boy Center on the campus of Monroe County Community College in Board Room #Z-203.
